| Beschreibung | Module: X-Unicode Fresche X-Unicode extends the functionality of Fresche X-Resize by automating the process of Unicode conversions to the database and all related programs and devices so that they are UNICODE compliant. Unicode is a standard encoding system for computers to display text and symbols from all writing systems around the world. It is the key to modern global applications because it provides a unique number for every character regardless of the platform, the program, or the language. There are several Unicode encodings but i5/OS supports only UCS-2 and UTF-16 Unicode. Off the two, UTF-16 is not compatible with many standard programming techniques. IBM i supports Unicode throughout its operating system and programs. Fresche's X-Resize provides support for Unicode conversion of fields. |
